WADE WANTS A “LEMON LAW”
FOR FISKER STYLE LOANS
Delaware U.S. Senate
candidate Kevin Wade
says if Fisker
Automotive abandons its
Delaware plant the
government should demand
the taxpayer’s money
back. Wade commented
after reports that
Fisker’s highly touted
“Karma,” car has
experienced serious
defects, jeopardizing
plans to build its new
plug-in hybrid electric
model at a former
General Motors plant.
“There should be a
‘Lemon Law’ applied to
these Solyndra-like
loans,” Wade said. “If
the government buys into
a clunker, it should get
the taxpayer’s money
back. Instead, Fisker is
threatening to abandon
Delaware if the Energy
Department doesn’t throw
good money after bad.”
Fisker borrowed $193
million of the $528
million loan allocated
under the “stimulus”
program before the rest
of the loan was
suspended.
“While the Energy
Department is wasting
taxpayer funds on these
projects, gas prices
have gone through the
roof after the
government reduced
domestic energy
production under federal
control by over 35
percent,” Wade said.
“Washington’s priorities
are not the American
people’s priorities and
that is why I am running
for the Senate.”
